"Ahhh! Vash, look at what they are selling!" you said as you pointed to your friends, Gilbert and Alfred. They were selling chocolate kisses for ten cents each.

"Yeah?" he said, uninterested.

"Oh… Kisses... how romantic," you sighed dreamily. You then turned to look at him. "Vashy… can you buy me some…?

"Yeah, you should totally buy some awesome kisses for your girlfriend," Gilbert said when you were inspecting the chocolates that they had lined up.

Vash didn't say anything, and you blushed. That was certainly a sensitive subject. In fact, you had a huge crush on Vash, but you weren't a hundred percent sure how he felt about you. But since you were feeling a bit mischievous, you decided to go along with it too see what his response would be. "Yeah, Vashy… can't you buy me some?" you said as you looked at him appealingly.

He looked at you and you saw that he was furiously blushing. But then before you could find out anything, the accursed bell rang.

"Why would I want to buy you anything like that?" he replied sourly. He then took your arm and began dragging you away. "Come on, we got to go to class."

You went to class with those words echoing in your head… your heart sinking. "I would've loved to have gotten any chocolate from you… especially a kiss," you said sadly in a quiet voice.

*****************present~!***********************

"…Do you really think anyone would want to buy these?" you asked your best friend, Elizaveta, while trying your hardest to keep the doubt out of your voice.

"Yes, dear, who wouldn't want these babies~! They are a great way to get that special someone and they are made by a fantastic cook!" she smiled and winked at you as she set up our table outside in the school's rose garden.

You two were fundraising for your club, the anime club, by selling roses along with your chocolates. The rose idea came from a manga you and Eliza had read. The point of the roses was this- each little bouquet came with a single red and white rose. You then could give it to a special someone, and they could in response either give you a red color if they liked you back, or a white one if they…didn't.

You two were also selling some other various things… drawings that the club made, little trinkets… and chocolates that you made with… Vash.  Vash… you sighed dreamily as you began to arrange the chocolates that you two made together, along with his sister of course. There were all sorts of shapes you two had molded… especially hearts. In fact, he even helped give you some ideas… like getting icing prepared so that you could write the couple's name on the chocolate.

You sighed as you arranged the hearts in an artful way. You wished that Vash would…

"______! We got customers!" Elizaveta woke you up from your revere. You turned around and nearly fell backwards when you noticed how many people were standing behind you.  You then scrambled over to help Eliza. Today's fundraiser was going to be quite the success!

You smiled at the fluffiness of it all. It was nice being able to see the couples around you, smiling at each other and blushing when you wrote their names on the yummy chocolate treats you made. It was also even cuter when you saw some soon to be couples exchange flowers shyly.

"Ah... the flowers of moe…." You sighed to yourself once again as you finished writing another couple's name on a chocolate heart.

"_____________!" to your delight, you saw that Lily finally came to visit you and Eliza.
You gave her a giant bear hug after you ran around the table. You absolutely loved her.

While Eliza was your best friend, Lily was like a sister to you. You two were very close.

"Hey, have this…it's on me!" you told her with a big smile as you took the icing and wrote her name on a chocolate heart. "Thanks to you and Vash… this was a huge success. Everyone loved the idea of having personalized chocolate hearts… they also said that the chocolate was really tasty as well." You handed her the chocolate and hugged her again.

She hugged you back. "Thank you __________!" she said happily.

As you pulled away, you looked around. "Where's Vash? I'd like to thank him too…"

"…Big bruder's at home…" she told you with a sad voice.

"At home? Is he sick?" you asked her, concerned.

She shook her head. "No… big bruder just shut himself up in the kitchen… he wouldn't even let me go in. he just gave me some breakfast and told me to go to school without him…"

"Oh… what was he doing?" you asked her… feeling a bit sad. You wanted to give him something…

"I don't know for sure, but it smelled like chocolates…" she told you as she ate the chocolate.

"Chocolate?" you were completely mystified by the whole situation.

"Mmm! This is good!" Lily said as she bit into the chocolate. "I can taste the love in this chocolate," she said with a big smile and a mischievous wink. She knew that you liked her brother… she knew practically everything about you.

The bell rang. You gave Lily a goodbye hug and turned to help Elizabeta with the cleanup, when Lili ran up and tugged your shirt sleeve.

"Why don't you come over after school? Maybe you can get him out of the kitchen…" she smiled and waved as she ran off to the next class.

You smiled gratefully, and to your embarrassment, found yourself blushing. "____________.
Can you help me here? I have a big test I have to take right now~" Eliza yelled.

"Oh, all right! I'm coming!" you answered and ran over to help her clean up. There wasn't all that much, so you offered to clean, so she could get to class. After you cleaned up, you went to the kitchen where the cooking class was usually held, and began to take out various ingredients you brought and stored in your lunch bag. You had this period off, so the cooking teacher allowed you to go cook whenever you wanted to, as long as you cleaned up.

You hummed softly to yourself as you turned on the stove top and began prepping the ingredients. This was going to be the hardest desert you've made so far, but you wanted to make it for the one you loved.

*************Flash back*******************

It was in here that you made your magic. While writers had pens, and artists had paintbrushes, your tools were the whisk and your taste buds. You just loved cooking and everything about it. In fact, you grew up cooking. You had many memories of you and your mother cooking… the love you felt as she would patiently guide you as you put you "creations" together… and most of all, how you could taste it within everything she put on the table. This love was indescribable… warm, delicious… every bite a wave of comforts that washed over you and made you feel loved.

And that is what you aspired to do. You wished to spread that same feeling where ever you went, through good food.

As a result, you were known to be a fantastic cook.

One afternoon, you were experimenting with making your own chocolate. However, you just did not know how much cocoa beans you should add as well as the amount of sugar needed.
It had bothered you for days now, and the lack of sleep was bothering you. You wanted to get it right so you could give some to your mother for her birthday. You were in the middle of testing some, when you realized that someone else was also in the kitchen, and that whoever it was, they were watching you. You then looked up to see that it was a boy. He had green eyes and golden hair that reached his shoulders. When you made eye contact with him, you noticed that he was looking at you with deep admiration. However, the moment passed so fast that you doubted that you saw that in his eyes.

You smiled and picked up a piece of chocolate. "Would you like to try some?" you asked him as he walked over to you.

"…Sure," he said quietly as he took a piece. He took a little bite, and tasted it… and did not say anything for a long time.

You nervously fiddled with your apron as you waited to see what he'd say.

He then looked at you and said, "This flavor is really good… but I think this would suit you better…" he walked over to the stove and began to make his own chocolate.

You silently watched him, and found yourself admiring him. Here was someone who shared the same passion, even though he didn't say it out loud. He expertly added ingredients, mainly without even using measuring cups, and soon a delicious aroma filled the air.

Then, to your surprise, he took some strawberries out of the refrigerator. He then dipped it into the chocolate syrup and set it in the freezer to have it cool faster. After it was cooled enough, he took it out and gave it to me.

"Here, try this," he said, looking at you with those serious emerald eyes of his.

You took a bite and almost moaned from the taste of it. The chocolate was…exquisite, and it contrasted perfectly with the tartness of the strawberry. "It's really... sweet," you told him with a big smile. "And it's delicious… you are quite a good chocolatier."

He blushed a bit at your smile and the complement, and then cleared his throat. "Well, your chocolate was just fine… but it was a bit on the dark side. I think this flavor
suits you much better."

"What? You think I'm sweet?" you teased him.

"…." He blushed a deep red, but then held his hand out and said, "I'm Vash."

You took his hand and gently shook his hand. "_____________, nice to meet you. You have to tell me all of your recipes," you smiled and giggled.

And that was the start of a beautiful and sweet relationship.

**************************************back to the present~!**********

You were finishing packing when your phone started to ring. "Hello?"

"Hey, _____________," It was Lily. "I'm sorry but can you go by yourself? I have to stay a bit later after school."

"Yeah… that's fine…" you then hung up after she said goodbye. Traitor, she was probably doing this on purpose… but you were a bit glad that it'd be just you two. You made sure that you had your present, and took a deep breath and began to walk to his house.

His house wasn't too terribly far from your school, so you were there in no time. You knocked on the door.

"Oh, hey Lil-" he stopped when he saw it was you. He was wearing pretty casual clothes and his hair was a bit mussed up. "oh _________... what are you doing here?" he asked through the door.

"Hey Vash~! I brought something that I wanted you to try out," you said as you walked into his house. "Why didn't you come to school?"

At that he said, "None of your business…" in a gruff tone. You looked at him, surprised that he was being extra grumpy when you saw that he was blushing and that was trying to hide his hands behind his back.

You looked at him suspiciously and went up to him and grabbed his arms. "Why are you hiding them-" you then gasped. On his hands were angry red burns.

"What happened, Vash?" you cried as you looked at his burns.

"See, this is why I didn't really want you to come in here," he said as he looked down at you.

You tsked and then frowned at him. "Come on, let's go to your backyard and get some aloe…" you walked to the kitchen.

"W-wait, don't go in there," he protested and blocked the door.

"Vash, why are you being so stubborn?" you said as you grabbed his hand gently and pulled him out of the way. "I have to treat these…" you opened the door, only to be greeted with a heavenly scent of chocolate.

"Wh-what is this?" you turned around to look at Vash.

"N-nothing," he lied grumpily, as he awkwardly rubbed the back of his head. You stuck your tongue out at him and walked over to inspect the chocolates that were on the table.

They were a bit lumpy, yes, but upon closer inspection, they were shaped suspiciously like… kisses.

You looked at him with a big smile. "Are- are these kisses?" you asked him, excited.

"Well, they are supposed to be..." he replied gruffly. He was blushing even more now at the sight of your smile.

"Did you make them for me?" you said, smiling even wider.

"…Yes," You squealed and glomped him. He patted our head awkwardly and said, "Y'know, when I said I didn't want to buy you those kisses… I meant that I wanted to get you something much better than that."

You wiggled around so you could look up at him from your embrace and smile shyly. He heard you! Then you remembered something. "Ah… I made you something too!" you took out a container from your package and you handed it to him.

He looked at you curiously, and at your smile, he opened it. When he saw what it was, he smiled and then set the container on the table.

"…it's what you made me the first time I met you..." you told him.

He then got up and took your hands in his. He winced a bit because of his burns, but he looked at you tenderly and said, "____________, I want you to make sweets with me forever…" he said awkwardly, blushing.

You smiled up at him and gripped his hands even harder. "Is that how you say 'I love you'?" you teased. He nodded, embarrassed. "Well, yes, I always want to make sweets with you… forever and always." You let go of his hands and hugged him. He hugged you back.
His hands then went up your shoulders… up to your face… and he cupped your chin. You looked up at him and saw that his face was getting closer. Was he going to kiss you?

…..

Then you remembered that his hands were burnt. "Hey, Vash, let's treat your hands first…" you replied, a bit embarrassed. It wasn't that you did not want to kiss him; it was just that it felt like it was going a bit too fast…for now.

He looked a bit disappointed and embarrassed, but you soon got the aloe you needed and dressed his fingers with bandages.

"I love you so much," you said and you kissed his fingers. You were really touched that he made kisses from scratch… and also a bit sad that he got hurt in the process.

He looked at you, with his shining emerald eyes and said, "I love you too, _____________," with a voice filled with love.

Then remembering the kisses, you picked up one and popped it in your mouth. Vash looked at you while you tasted it, a bit anxious to find out if you liked it.

"Mm... it's delicious... and nice and sweet," you said cheerfully as you got some more and ate it.

"That's good…" he said in a relieved voice. "I hadn't tried any yet..."

"Eh? Why don't you try some then?" you got a kiss and held it out to him.

He blushed and then pushed your hand out of the way and brought you closer to him. "Why don't you share some of yours?" he asked in a shyly and he kissed you deeply.

When you guys finally pulled away, you were reeling. He smiled and said, "You tasted sweet, just like I always thought you would."

Both of you blushed and then you said, "Do you want some more?" you said shyly as you popped another one in your mouth.

He nodded seriously and then you were about to kiss when you heard a squeal.

"Yay~~! Now you'll really be my sister!" Lily said happily.

You both blushed and Vash out his arm around your shoulder. "Lily, meet my girlfriend… I hope you like her," he said gruffly.

At that you and Lily both laughed and you spent the rest of the afternoon testing out the chocolates and sharing the strawberry ones you made for him.

Yes, sweet definitely did suit you better and you always thought that his kisses were better than money could buy.
